Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:

    - In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

      - Add in the granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix until fully combined and creamy. Set aside.

        Make the Apple Filling:

          - In another bowl, combine the diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until the apples are well-coated. Set aside.

            Prepare the Bread Batter:

              - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

                - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

                  - In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.

                    - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the apple mixture and walnuts or pecans, if using.

                      Layer the Bread:

                        - Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.

                          - Spread the cheesecake layer evenly over the batter.

                            - Top with the remaining bread batter, smoothing it out.

                              Make the Crisp Topping:

                                - In a small bowl, mix together the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon until it resembles coarse crumbs.

                                  - Sprinkle the crisp topping over the batter in the loaf pan.

                                    Bake:

                                      - Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Tent the loaf with foil if the topping is browning too quickly.

                                        Cool and Serve:

                                          - Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

                                            - Slice and serve plain or with a dollop of whipped cream.

                                              ---
