Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons sea salt

1 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Cornmeal (for dusting)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sea salt, sugar, and instant yeast. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, then add the warm water and olive oil.

Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Lightly coat a large bowl with olive oil and place the kneaded dough inside, rolling it to coat with oil.

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release air.

Divide the dough into 2-3 equal portions, depending on your desired pizza size. Shape each portion into a ball.

Cover the dough balls with a damp cloth and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to the highest setting (usually around 475-500°F or 245-260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

On a floured surface, stretch each dough ball into your desired pizza shape, about 10-12 inches in diameter.

Transfer your stretched dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or another floured surface.

Top with your favorite sauces, cheeses, and toppings, then slide onto the preheated stone or baking sheet.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
