Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed and washed
  • 8 slices bacon each cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bring water to a rolling boil in a large pot and blanch the green beans for 3-4 minutes.
  • Drain the beans and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking.
  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and sea salt.
  • Group 5-6 green beans together and wrap with a half slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if needed.
  • Place the bundles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with the olive oil mixture.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the beans are tender.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish.
