When it comes to choosing blueberries for your smoothie, both fresh and frozen options have their advantages. Fresh blueberries tend to offer a slightly firmer texture and a bright, juicy flavor that can elevate your smoothie. They're typically available during the summer months, so if you have access to farm-fresh berries, they're worth considering.

Ingredients

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

1 ripe peach, pitted and sliced

1 banana

1 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)

1/2 cup coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

A handful of spinach (optional, for extra nutrition)

Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)

Instructions

Begin by preparing your ingredients. Wash the blueberries thoroughly and slice the peach, removing the pit.

In a blender, add the blueberries, sliced peach, banana, Greek yogurt, coconut milk, honey or maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract.

If you’re adding spinach for a nutrient boost, toss it into the blender now.

Blend on high speed until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more coconut milk to reach your desired consistency. For a frostier texture, add a few ice cubes and blend again.

Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey or maple syrup.

Pour the smoothie into a glass or two and enjoy immediately. You can garnish with a few whole blueberries or a slice of peach on the rim of the glass for a delightful touch.
