1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional for topping)

For Garnish:

Whipped cream

Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a standard muffin pan with cupcake liners or spray with non-stick cooking spray.

    Make the Brownie Base:

      - Melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second increments and stirring in between until smooth.

        - Remove from the microwave and stir in the granulated sugar until combined. Allow to cool slightly.

          - Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

            - Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

              - Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the brownie batter into each cupcake liner, smoothing it out evenly.

                Bake the Brownie Layer: Bake the brownie bases for about 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool slightly while you prepare the cheesecake filling.

                  Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

                    - In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until creamy and smooth.

                      - Gradually add in the granulated sugar and continue to mix until well blended.

                        - Mix in the vanilla extract. Then, add in the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined.
