Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or crescent roll dough)

1/2 cup refried beans (optional)

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup chopped green onions

Cooking spray

Salsa and sour cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, stirring well to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

If using, spread a thin layer of refried beans on the pizza dough to enhance flavor and moisture.

Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut it into strips of about 2 inches wide.

Take a spoonful of the ground beef mixture and place it towards one end of each dough strip. Add a layer of diced tomatoes, olives, green onions, and a generous amount of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.

Roll the dough over the filling, keeping it tight, and ensure the ends are sealed. Place the rolled sticks seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Repeat with the remaining strips and filling until all are used up.

Brush the tops of the taco sticks with olive oil or melted butter for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serve warm with salsa and sour cream for dipping.
