Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper, sliced (red or green)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, finely grated

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/2 cup beef broth (or water)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

Prep the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli florets for about 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef, spreading it out in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Stir Fry Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced bell pepper, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Combine and Sauce It Up: Return the beef to the skillet, add the blanched broccoli, and pour in the beef broth. Drizzle with sesame oil and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly and coat the beef and vegetables.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot over a bed of jasmine rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
