Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for stir-frying)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/4 cup beef broth

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside for at least 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Drain again after a few minutes.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Flavors: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.

Combine Ingredients: Return the beef to the skillet and add the blanched broccoli. Pour in the beef broth, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Toss everything together to combine and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.

Final Adjustments: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary. Ensure the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve: Plate the beef and broccoli stir-fry over cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh finish.
