Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk whole or almond
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon for whipped cream
  • 1 churro crumbled
  • extra cinnamon sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens and bubbles, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the pure vanilla extract. Pour into a serving cup and cool at room temperature.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set properly.
  • Prepare the cinnamon whipped cream by beating the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, beating until stiff peaks are achieved.
