Ingredients

8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook spaghetti or fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute or until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping any bits off the bottom of the pan. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Add Cream and Cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit more chicken broth to reach your desired consistency.

Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Add the drained pasta and toss everything together until well coated in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan if desired. Serve warm with a side of garlic bread!
