Ingredients

1.5 lbs steak (ribeye or sirloin), cubed

4 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, diced

1 cup of cremini mushrooms, sliced

1 cup of beef broth

1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup of sour cream

4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by seasoning the cubed steak with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Toss to ensure the meat is evenly coated.

Layer the Ingredients: In the bottom of the crockpot, add the diced potatoes as the first layer. Follow with the seasoned steak, diced onion, sliced mushrooms, and minced garlic.

Add Liquids and Seasoning: Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the layered ingredients. Give it a gentle stir to ensure everything is mixed.

Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The steak should be tender, and the potatoes cooked through.

Final Touches: Once cooking is complete, uncover the crockpot and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top. Let it sit for an additional 10 minutes with the lid on to allow the cheese to melt.

Garnish and Serve: Before serving, add a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle fresh chives or parsley on top for garnish. Enjoy your hearty and comforting meal!
