Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups chocolate chips (dark or semisweet)

Optional: Flaky sea salt for topping

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.

        Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until no flour streaks remain. Do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.

          Scoop the Cookies: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
