  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine warm water and sugar, sprinkle yeast, and let sit until frothy.
  • Mix flour and salt in a bowl, create a well, and add yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Stir until dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan, sauté garlic, then add tomatoes and spices.
  • Simmer sauce for 15-20 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with pizza stone inside.
  • Roll out dough into a 12-inch circle and place on a baking sheet.
  • Spread sauce on dough, add cheese and toppings, then sprinkle Parmesan.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
