Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger finely grated
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves chopped, for garnish
  • Optional: Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Combine chicken with yogurt, curry powder, garam masala, salt, and pepper; marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; sauté onion until golden brown.
  • Add garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add marinated chicken; cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Lower heat and add heavy cream; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper; serve hot garnished with cilantro.
