Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar for rolling
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for rolling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream together the softened butter and 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Mix the 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Place the dough balls on the baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
