Ingredients

12 large pasta shells

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped (or 1/2 cup frozen, thawed and drained)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Stuff the Shells: Using a spoon, carefully fill each cooked shell with about 2 tablespoons of the ricotta and spinach mixture.

Layer the Marinara Sauce: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells on top of the sauce in a single layer.

Top with Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Then, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve hot.
