Ingredients

  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  • Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish.
  • Layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and a third of the marinara sauce.
  • Repeat with another layer of noodles, remaining ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara.
  • Top with remaining noodles and marinara, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving, garnished with basil.
