Ingredients

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound ground turkey or beef
  • 1 jar marinara sauce 24 oz
  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground turkey or beef, then drain excess fat.
  • Add marinara sauce, chopped spinach, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan until combined.
  • In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, then place 4 lasagna noodles on top.
  • Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layering process.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
  • Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
