Ingredients

  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 loaf crusty bread cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup cooked sausage crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and whole milk until smooth.
  • Add garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the egg mixture and stir well.
  • Fold in the cubed bread, crumbled sausage, diced bell peppers, and onion until coated.
  • Gently add the shredded cheddar cheese, folding it in to keep the mixture fluffy.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing into squares.
  • Garnish each serving with freshly chopped parsley.
