Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeños chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut it into strips that are 1 inch wide.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  • Take one strip of puff pastry and place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end, then fold and twist the strip.
  • Transfer the twisted pastry to the baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden color.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet.
