Ingredients

10-12 wonton wrappers

2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon soy sauce (for dipping)

1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce (for dipping)

Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prep the Wontons: Take the wonton wrappers and cut each one diagonally to create triangles. You can also cut them into strips if preferred.

Seasoning Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and sesame seeds together. This will be your seasoning.

Heat the Oil: In a large, deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of wonton wrapper; it should sizzle and float to the top.

Fry the Wonton Strips: Carefully place a few wonton triangles or strips in the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Season: Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried wonton strips and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the strips.

Serve: Arrange the crispy wonton strips on a serving plate. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves if desired. Serve with small bowls of soy sauce and sweet chili sauce for dipping.
