Ingredients

2 cups mixed fresh fruits (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, mango)

1 cup angel food cake, cubed

1 cup vanilla pudding

1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Fruit: Wash and chop the mixed fruits into bite-sized pieces. If using strawberries, slice them; cube the mango and kiwi.

Make the Pudding: If you are using store-bought pudding, prepare according to package instructions. For homemade, mix together 2 cups milk, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup cornstarch in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat while whisking until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and let cool.

Whip the Cream: If making your own whipped cream, beat 1 cup of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form. For added flavor, mix in a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Layer the Ingredients: In a large trifle bowl or individual cups, start with a layer of sponge cake cubes at the bottom. Follow with a layer of mixed fruits.

Add the Pudding: Spoon a layer of pudding over the fruits, then add a layer of whipped cream.

Repeat Layers: Continue layering until the bowl or cups are filled, ending with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Chill: Cover and refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld.

Serve: Before serving, drizzle honey or maple syrup on top if desired and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
