Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly

1 large onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and minced garlic, sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the beef mixture with the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Assemble the Casserole: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potato slices. Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef mixture.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top layer.

Cover and Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Uncover and Finish Cooking: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
