Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves finely chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
  • sesame seeds or poppy seeds optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet, then cut it into 4 equal squares.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, chopped basil, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until creamy.
