Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (80/20)

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

3 green onions, thinly sliced (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup cooked white rice (or brown rice)

1/2 cup carrots, julienned

1/2 cup cucumber, sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Kimchi (for serving, optional)

Fried eggs (optional, one per bowl)

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.

Make the Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add the minced garlic, ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the julienned carrots and half of the sliced green onions. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the carrots are slightly softened.

Prepare the Rice: While the beef is cooking, prepare your white rice (or brown rice) according to package instructions.

Assemble the Bowls: In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of rice at the bottom. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.

Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and the remaining green onions on top. If desired, add fresh cucumber slices, kimchi, and a fried egg on top for extra flavor and protein.

Serve: Enjoy your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl warm!
