Ingredients

1 cup warm water (110°F)

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 tablespoon sugar

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

In a larger bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

Spread the shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, oregano, and basil.

Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, creating a log. Cut the log into 1-inch pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the melted butter over the tops of the rolls and sprinkle with extra Parmesan, if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh parsley.

Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping!
