Ingredients

4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (or 2 cans of sliced peaches, drained)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup water

Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Peaches: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated and let them sit for about 10 minutes.

Layer the Peaches: Spread the peach mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the Cake Mix: Sprinkle the entire box of yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches, making sure to cover them completely.

Add the Butter: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Do not stir; this will create a beautiful, crumbly topping as it bakes.

Create the Syrup: In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and water until combined, then pour this mixture evenly over the cake mix.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Cool & Serve: Let the cobbler cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
