Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer or a whisk to blend until smooth and creamy.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well incorporated.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Extras: If you’re incorporating chopped nuts or chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter at this point.

Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.

Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool Down: Once done, remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and Serve: Slice the bread once cooled and enjoy it on its own, or spread with extra peanut butter or a drizzle of honey!
