Ingredients

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

2 tablespoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar

8 slices of thick-cut brioche or challah bread

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup, for serving

Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries), for garnish

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and frothy.

Soak the Bread: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add one tablespoon of butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 10 seconds on each side so it's well coated but not soggy.

Cook the French Toast: Once the butter is melted and bubbling, place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Add more butter as needed for the remaining slices.

Serve: Transfer the cooked French toast to a serving plate. Drizzle with maple syrup, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries. Enjoy while warm!
