Ingredients

For the crust:

2 cups crushed pretzels

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the cream cheese layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

For the pineapple layer:

1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained

1 package (3 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

1 cup cold milk

For the topping:

Additional whipped topping for garnish

Fresh pineapple chunks (optional)

Maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Make the cream cheese layer: In a separate bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.

Prepare the pineapple layer: In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Then fold in the drained crushed pineapple. Pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer and spread evenly.

Chill and serve: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results. Once chilled, top with additional whipped topping and garnish with fresh pineapple chunks and maraschino cherries if desired.

Slice and enjoy! Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy the delightful combination of sweet, salty, and creamy flavors in each bite!
