Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas thoroughly mashed
  • cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch fine sea salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten until frothy
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour sifted
  • ½ cup walnuts coarsely chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter until blended.
  • Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt thoroughly.
  • Add the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
  • Fold in the sifted flour gently until no dry flour remains.
  • Carefully add the coarsely chopped walnuts and distribute evenly.
  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
