Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • ½ cup cinnamon-sugar
  • Whipped cream
  • Cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  • Combine whole milk and heavy cream in a medium saucepan and heat until steaming.
  • Whisk eggs and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until pale and thickened.
  • Gradually pour warm milk mixture into egg mixture while whisking continuously.
  • Return combined mixture to saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and apple cider.
