Ingredients

12 oz (340 g) pasta (farfalle or penne recommended)

1 lb (450 g) smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup (60 ml) honey

1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce

1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)

1 cup (240 ml) chicken broth

2 cups (200 g) fresh spinach or kale

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sausage: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally for even cooking.

Add Garlic: Once the sausage is browned, add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, and chili flakes (if using). Stir well to combine, then pour the mixture into the skillet with the sausage.

Combine Everything: Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Add Pasta and Greens: Add the cooked pasta and fresh spinach (or kale) to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated with the sticky sauce and the greens are wilted, about 2-3 minutes.

Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
