Ingredients

For the Steak:

1 lb (450g) flank steak

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp grated fresh ginger

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

For the Rotini:

8 oz (225g) rotini pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

2 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag, pour the marinade over it, seal, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for more flavor).

Cook the Rotini: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. In the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain and set aside.

Grill the Steak: Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain into thin strips.

Prepare Rotini: In the same pot used for the pasta, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the drained rotini and broccoli back into the pot. Toss gently to coat, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine and Serve: Plate the buttered rotini and broccoli, then layer the sliced steak on top. Drizzle some of the remaining marinade over the dish, and garnish with sliced green onions. Add grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy your Sticky Honey Garlic Steak and Rotini!
