Ingredients

4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

4 cups ripe peaches, pitted and sliced

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Crisp Topping:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Fruit: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved strawberries and sliced peaches. Add the granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt, then gently toss the fruit until well coated.

Create the Filling: Transfer the fruit mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.

Make the Crisp Topping: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and melted butter. Add the vanilla extract and mix until crumbly.

Assemble the Crisp: Evenly sprinkle the crisp topping over the fruit mixture in the baking dish, ensuring it's well covered.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Cool & Serve: Allow the crisp to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
