Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 3 cups milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs optional, for topping
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil optional, for breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente, then drain.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and whisk in the flour to form a roux.
  • Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted and smooth.
  • Season the cheese sauce with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce until well coated.
