Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten

Olive oil (for grilling)

Burger buns

Fresh arugula or lettuce (for serving)

Tomato slices (optional)

Avocado slices (optional)

Mayonnaise or aioli (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and the beaten egg. Mix everything together until well combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each portion into a patty (about 1/2 inch thick).

Chill: Place the patties on a plate or parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up and hold their shape while cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Once the grill is hot, add the chicken patties. Cook for 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown, then carefully flip them and cook for another 5-6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are fully cooked.

Toast the Buns (optional): While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill until lightly golden.

Assemble the Burgers: Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with fresh arugula or lettuce, tomato slices, avocado slices, and a dollop of mayonnaise or aioli if desired.

Serve: Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve warm with your favorite sides.
