Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1/2 tsp vinegar)

2 large eggs

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup sugar (for coating)

1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tbsp coconut oil (for chocolate drizzle)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan with cooking spray or butter.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.

Fill the Donut Pan: Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the corner snipped off. Fill each cavity of the donut pan about 2/3 full with the batter.

Bake: Bake the donuts for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow them to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: In a shallow bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Mix well.

Coat the Donuts: Once the donuts are cool, roll each donut in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.

Make the Chocolate Drizzle: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring in between until smooth and melted.

Drizzle the Chocolate: Using a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate over each donut, allowing some to drip down the sides.

Set and Enjoy: Let the chocolate set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the warm, delicious bites of your homemade cinnamon-sugar donuts drizzled with chocolate!
