Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

½ cup whole milk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)

½ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for filling)

1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the eggs, whole milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until fully blended.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Prepare Apple Filling: In a separate bowl, toss the diced apples with the brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Layer the Bread: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then layer the apple mixture on top. Pour the remaining batter over the apples, smoothing the top as necessary.

Swirl: If desired, use a knife to gently swirl the batter and apple filling together for a marbled effect.

Bake the Bread: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Glaze: For the glaze, combine the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk in a small bowl, adding more milk if needed until you reach a drizzle-able consistency.

Glaze the Bread: Once the loaf has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top. Slice and serve as desired.
